"Our greatest asset is our history of reliability - this means delivering information technology projects on time and on budget."

How do we accomplish this?

2) Establish a clear description of the project's scope and requirements
3) Establish a well thought out project budget and timeline
4) Manage the project budget and timeline rigorously

We pride ourselves in helping our clients pursue the "business value" for all IT projects - this means finding ways to increase revenues or reduce costs using information technology.

Top 3 IT Development and Project Best Practices

1Always take time to understand the purpose and mission of the organization and how this IT project supports the mission.  Don't assume that the goals of an IT project have the best interests of the mission in mind.  Don't lose sight of the overwhelming business reason(s) for developing any IT system.  Define what success will look like from the beginning and do not let anyone lose sight of the project's mission.  The best investment you can make in a project is at this stage.
2.  Take the time to understand who the various users of the system are and talk to them about what their key needs and goals are.  Make the time to ensure you have spoken to all the key user groups and stakeholders.  Keep the key users involved from start to finish and communicate with them relentlessly.  It is amazing how many projects are well underway and the system's users are barely involved.  Every hour invested communicating with the key system users will be returned one hundredfold down the road, and this is conservative!

3.  Take the time to understand what the achievable goals and requirements of the system (or project) are.  Pay careful attention to what is achievable according to the organization’s resources.  Don't embark on a project that is not sustainable all the way through roll-out and realization of payback.  It makes no sense to embark upon a project that accomplishes 10 things but the organization only has resources to properly support 5 of these capabilities.

"The only way to ensure that these 3 best practices are followed is by hard work and careful attention by a devoted and talented team, but in the end this focus will be your surest guarantee for success!"

ITmpact working with Cherry Hills Community Church

Cherry Hills Community Church has weekly attendance exceeding 6,000. Dr. Jim Dixon has been the senior pastor since 1982.  Cherry Hills has a vibrant growing congregation that comes together in learning and faith around Jesus Christ.

ITmpact has been engaged by Cherry Hills to work on several elements of their online ministry strategy beginning with a new web site and content management system. The new Cherry Hills web site - www.CherryHills.com, hopes to offer its members and the Highlands Ranch community a much fresher web experience.  We are also going to explore many ways for its members to interact with one another and the community through the new web site and by using interactive web technologies such as blogs, social networking and rich media sharing.

ITmpact working with Navis logistics Network

You may recognize the Navis Pack and Ship Center logo which is found at franchise locations throughout the US and Canada.  The parent organization is Navis Logistics Network located in Greenwood Village, Co. Navis is  the leading packaging and shipping company for difficult-to-ship goods that are too big for a mail and parcel center, but too small for a mover.  Navis has engaged ITmpact to help with their project to re-write its NavisConnectoperations portal with Microsoft Dynamics CRM at the heart of the system.  This is going to be a powerful system designed to enable much greater scalability for growth of its individual locations.  Using Microsofts Dynamis CRM as the foundation ITmpact is helping with design, project management and UI design.

Testimonial - Navis Logistics Network

"In 2003, I was the CEO of Navis Logistics Network (a franchise based logistics company) and was seeking a solution for a web-based portal. After engaging the services of Steve Arends, he took the time to carefully craft a solution which took a complex set of IT requirements and transformed them into a state of the art portal for the Navis franchisees. Steve demonstrated a unique understanding of multiple constituents as well as being able to manage a budget that never exceeded the planned expenditures which in total was in the seven figure range. Steve continued to manage this project through 2007. If you need a solutions oriented IT visionary that can take a complex set of criteria and craft the best and most economical solution, I would not hesitate in recommending Steve and his team."
